Grant Coordination > 2008 Grant RPAC Meetings Summary
Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the Governor's Office for Commonwealth Preparedness held regional meetings in February and March 2008 to review the National and Virginia priorities for the DHS 2008 Homeland Security Grant Program. We also discussed the current status of the State Preparedness Report.
Each locality sent two to five participants who represented the different facets of emergency management, including law enforcement, fire and EMS, local government, public health, volunteer organizations and private business.
The meetings were an opportunity to discuss the national and state priorities, how these priorities fit with our regional feedback from the State Preparedness Report meetings, and the types of investments that might be included in the 2008 grant application.
